Classic Margaritas Recipe
Shake up the perfect margarita with this easy and refreshing recipe. A harmonious blend of tequila, lime, and orange liqueur creates the ultimate cocktail for any occasion!
2 oz (60 ml) tequila (preferably blanco or reposado)
1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
1 oz (30 ml) orange liqueur (Triple Sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier)
½ oz (15 ml) simple syrup or agave nectar (optional, for sweetness)
Ice cubes
For the rim:
Lime wedge
Coarse salt
- Cocktail shaker
- Jigger or measuring tool
- Citrus juicer
- Plate for salt
- Margarita or rocks glass
- Strainer
Prepare the glass by running a lime wedge around the rim. Dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt to coat it evenly. Set aside.
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup or agave nectar (if using). Fill the shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to chill and blend the ingredients.
Strain the margarita into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge. Serve immediately and enjoy!
