Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to get it nice and hot before baking your pie.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion until the beef is fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. In another bowl, combine the milk and eggs, then slowly add this mixture to the flour blend. Stir until just combined.
- Fold in the cooked beef mixture and half of the shredded cheese into the batter. Make sure everything is evenly mixed.
Cooking
- Pour the mixture into a greased pie dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Serving
- Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing. You can serve it with your favorite toppings like diced tomatoes, lettuce, or a drizzle of ketchup.
Notes
To achieve the perfect pie, avoid over mixing your batter. If you find yourself with leftovers, allow the pie to cool completely, then cover and refrigerate. Serve warm, either reheated in the oven or microwave.
