Cilantro Lime Chicken: A Zesty and Irresistible Recipe

This Cilantro Lime Chicken is juicy, flavorful, and perfect for grilling, baking, or pan-searing. Marinated in a zesty blend of lime juice, garlic, and fresh cilantro, this dish is an easy and delicious way to elevate your chicken dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • For the Marinade:
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice about 2 limes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional, for balance
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • For Serving Optional:
  • Extra lime wedges
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Avocado slices

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Marinade
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together lime juice, olive oil, garlic, honey, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Stir in chopped cilantro.
  4. Step 2: Marinate the Chicken
  5. Place the chicken breasts in a ziplock bag or shallow dish, then pour the marinade over them.
  6. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (for best results, marinate for up to 4 hours).
  7. Step 3: Cook the Chicken
  8. Grill Method:
  9. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (375–400°F).
  10. Remove chicken from marinade and discard excess liquid.
  11. Grill for 6–7 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  12. Skillet Method:
  13. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  14. Sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown and fully cooked.
  15. Oven Method:
  16. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  17. Place the chicken in a baking dish and bake for 20–25 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  18. Step 4: Rest & Serve
  19. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  20. Garnish with fresh cilantro, extra lime wedges, or avocado slices.
