Ingredients

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Toppings
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache (made from melting semi-sweet chocolate and heavy cream in a 2:1 ratio)
  • Fresh strawberries hulled and sliced

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, stirring until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake!
Topping
  1. Once baked, let the brownies cool in the pan. Meanwhile, prepare the chocolate ganache by melting chocolate and cream together. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Once brownies are cooled, remove them from the pan and cut them into squares. Drizzle the chocolate ganache over the top and scatter the sliced strawberries for an irresistible finish.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
