Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, chill cookie dough for 30 minutes before baking. Don’t overbake; cookies will firm up as they cool.
