  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until well incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, chill cookie dough for 30 minutes before baking. Don’t overbake; cookies will firm up as they cool.
