Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder Ensure it's fresh for best results.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Can use Halal-friendly substitute.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
  • 1 cup milk Can use any non-dairy alternative.
Add-Ins
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Ensure they are Halal-certified.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a standard muffin tin or line it with muffin liners.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; it's okay if the mixture is a little lumpy.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Fill each muffin cup about two-thirds full with batter.
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow muffins to cool in pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use plant-based butter and non-dairy milk. Do not overmix the batter to avoid tough muffins.
