Wet Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Chocolate
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) Feel free to experiment with different types.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Mixing
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamy mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
