Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredient bowl and stir until just combined. Don’t overmix!
  • Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers look slightly underbaked. They will firm up while cooling.
  • Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a delicious serving suggestion, try these cookies warm with vanilla ice cream or alongside a glass of cold milk. If you prefer thicker cookies, chill the dough before baking.
