Preparation
- Cook your chicken breast until fully cooked. Let it cool, and then slice or shred it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine the mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Set aside.
Assembly
- On one slice of bread, spread a generous layer of marinara sauce. Layer the chicken on top, followed by the cheese mixture.
- Place the second slice of bread on top of the cheesy chicken layer. Spread a bit of butter on the outer sides of both slices of bread.
Cooking
- In a skillet over medium heat, place the sandwich and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip it over and continue cooking until the cheese is melted and the other side is crispy.
Serving
- Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half, and serve with extra marinara for dipping. Add fresh basil on top for a burst of color!
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for better flavor, experiment with different bread types, and cook on medium to low heat for the best results. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
