Chicken Noodle Casserole Recipe – Comfort Food at Its Best

This Chicken Noodle Casserole is the ultimate comfort food—creamy, cheesy, and packed with tender chicken and noodles. Perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked egg noodles
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas optional
  • 1/2 cup diced carrots optional
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers or breadcrumbs for topping
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat the Oven
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Step 2: Cook the Noodles
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 3: Prepare the Filling
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  • Stir in the cooked chicken, peas, and carrots (if using). Add the cooked noodles and mix until evenly coated.
  • Step 4: Assemble the Casserole
  • Pour the noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  • Step 5: Add the Topping
  • In a small bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers or breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Mix until evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle the topping over the cheese layer.
  • Step 6: Bake
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Step 7: Serve
  • Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
