Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, flour, shredded cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and forms a dough that holds together.
  3. Using your hands, roll the dough into small balls (about the size of a tablespoon) and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Press down in the center of each ball to create a well.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the chopped fresh herbs with any remaining cheese. Spoon the cheese mixture into the wells of the thumbprints.
Baking
  1. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  2. Once out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes. Just before serving, top each thumbprint with a dollop of hot pepper jelly.

Notes
