Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, flour, shredded cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and forms a dough that holds together.
- Using your hands, roll the dough into small balls (about the size of a tablespoon) and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Press down in the center of each ball to create a well.
- In a small bowl, mix together the chopped fresh herbs with any remaining cheese. Spoon the cheese mixture into the wells of the thumbprints.
Baking
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Once out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes. Just before serving, top each thumbprint with a dollop of hot pepper jelly.
