Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breasts Make sure to use Halal-certified chicken.
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard You can use honey mustard for a milder taste.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Different cheeses like Swiss or pepper jack can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. While the chicken is cooking, combine the honey and Dijon mustard in a small bowl and stir until blended.
  5. Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish. Pour the honey mustard mixture over the chicken and sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve with rice, potatoes, or vegetables.

Notes

For optimal results, avoid overcooking the chicken to retain its juiciness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes.
