  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced Keep butter cold for flaky biscuits
  • ¾ cup milk Use whole milk for creaminess
Cheese Filling
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For dough mixture
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese For filling
Garnish
  • to taste Fresh parsley For optional garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Add the diced cold butter to the dry ingredients and cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Slowly pour in the milk, mixing just until the dough comes together.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute.
  7. Roll the dough out to about ½ inch thick. Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Take a small pinch of mozzarella cheese and place it in the center of each biscuit.
  9. Fold the dough over the cheese and seal the edges, ensuring the filling is locked inside.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish if desired.
