Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.
- Add the diced cold butter to the dry ingredients and cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Slowly pour in the milk, mixing just until the dough comes together.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute.
- Roll the dough out to about ½ inch thick. Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Take a small pinch of mozzarella cheese and place it in the center of each biscuit.
- Fold the dough over the cheese and seal the edges, ensuring the filling is locked inside.
Baking
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish if desired.
Notes
Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the microwave or preheated oven.
