Preparation and Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- Stir in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder just until combined. Don’t overmix!
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out evenly.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until creamy and fully blended.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer, spreading it gently to cover.
- Use a knife to swirl the brownie and cheesecake layers together, creating a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs.
- Allow cooling in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve!
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy blending. Avoid overbaking for fudgy brownies.
