Method
Cooking the Beef
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s fully cooked. Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning along with a splash of water. Stir well and let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
Assembling the Wraps
- Take a large tortilla and place a few spoonfuls of the beef mixture in the center.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese on top, followed by lettuce, diced tomatoes, and pickles.
- Drizzle mustard and ketchup to elevate the flavors.
Folding and Cooking
- Carefully fold the edges of the tortilla over the filling, creating a square shape. Make sure to tuck in the sides to secure everything tightly.
- Heat a little oil in the same skillet over medium heat. Place your folded wrap seam-side down, and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden-brown and crispy. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
Serving
- Once both sides are crispy, remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot with additional toppings or dipping sauces.
Notes
For substitutions, swap ground beef for ground chicken or turkey for a lighter option. Black beans or lentils work well for a vegetarian version. Store leftovers wrapped in aluminum foil or airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a skillet or oven until crispy again.
