  • 1 piece cedar plank (soaked in water for at least 1 hour)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 piece Juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Preparation
  1. Soak the Cedar Plank: Begin by soaking your cedar plank in water for at least one hour.
  2. Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Marinate the Salmon: Place your salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow them to marinate for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Preheat Grill or Oven: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Cedar Plank: Remove the cedar plank from the water and place it on the grill or in the oven. Let it heat for a few minutes until it starts to crackle.
  3. Place the Salmon on the Plank: Lay the marinated salmon fillets skin-side down on the heated cedar plank.
  4. Cook: Close the grill lid or oven door. Cook for approximately 12-15 minutes until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the cedar plank from the grill or oven and garnish the salmon with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Keep an eye on the salmon while it cooks; cooking times may vary. Ensure you soak the plank adequately to capture the smoky flavor. Refrigerate leftovers within two hours, and store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
