Equipment

  • 8x8-inch square baking dish
  • Parchment paper or cooking spray
  • Medium saucepan
  • Heatproof spatula or spoon
  • Knife (for chopping apple chips)

Ingredients

  • For the Fudge:
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup apple cider or apple juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • For the Apple Layer:
  • 1 cup dried apple chips or freeze-dried apple pieces chopped
  • ¼ cup apple jelly or apple preserves for drizzling

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Baking Dish
  • Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal of the fudge. Lightly grease the parchment paper with non-stick spray for easy cleanup.
  • Step 2: Make the Fudge Base
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract, apple cider (or apple juice), ground cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined. This will give the fudge its signature fall flavors.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the caramel sauce until fully incorporated. The caramel will add a rich, sweet note to the fudge.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Fudge
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • Sprinkle the chopped dried apple chips or freeze-dried apple pieces over the top of the fudge, gently pressing them into the fudge for an even distribution.
  • Drizzle the apple jelly or apple preserves over the fudge to add a beautiful finish and a bit of extra sweetness.
  • Step 4: Chill and Set
  • Place the fudge in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, or until fully set. The fudge should be firm to the touch but still creamy when cut.
  • Step 5: Slice and Serve
  • Once the fudge has set, lift it out of the dish using the parchment paper.
  • Slice it into small squares and enjoy this sweet, tangy autumn treat!
