  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and let it warm up while you prep the ingredients.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Once cooked, drain any excess fat and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until they soften, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir until it starts to wilt.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together.
Baking
  1. Spread the beef and cabbage mixture into a greased baking dish. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top.
  2. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  4. Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy your delicious Cabbage Beef Bake!

Notes

This dish is customizable with extra vegetables or alternate proteins like ground turkey or chicken. Serve with warm, crusty bread or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
