  • 2 cups pretzel twists Use pretzel twists for maximum coating
  • 1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional, for topping
  • Flaky sea salt For topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt, stirring until the mixture comes to a simmer and thickens slightly.
  5. Pour the pretzel twists into the butter toffee mixture and stir until evenly coated.
  6. Spread the coated pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and stir the pretzels.
  2. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until golden.
  3. If desired, sprinkle with chocolate chips immediately after removing from the oven.
  4. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let cool before serving.

Notes

Watch the baking time closely to prevent burning. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
