Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
- Add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt, stirring until the mixture comes to a simmer and thickens slightly.
- Pour the pretzel twists into the butter toffee mixture and stir until evenly coated.
- Spread the coated pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
Baking
- Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and stir the pretzels.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until golden.
- If desired, sprinkle with chocolate chips immediately after removing from the oven.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let cool before serving.
Notes
Watch the baking time closely to prevent burning. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
