Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a muffin tin by greasing it lightly.
- Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface and cut it into rounds, then lightly press into the muffin tin cups.
- In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar, mixing well until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, whisking until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle in the flour and salt, then mix until it’s all combined.
- If you’re adding any optional ingredients like raisins or nuts, fold them into the mixture gently.
- Pour the filling evenly into each crust, filling them about three-quarters full.
Baking
- Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the center is set but still slightly jiggles.
- Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Chill your dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent shrinking if making a homemade crust. Don't overbake; aim for a set but not overly firm texture. Experiment with flavors by using maple syrup instead of vanilla extract or adding nutmeg for a unique twist. Great for gatherings or a cozy evening at home.
