Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk Use cold milk for fluffier texture
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C). Grab an 8x8 inch baking dish or skillet and set it aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Don't overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Once it's fully melted, pour it into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Carefully pour the biscuit dough into the baking dish over the melted butter. Do not mix the butter and batter; let the butter swim!
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the edges are crispy.
  2. Once baked, let cool for a few minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes for best results.
