Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C). Grab an 8x8 inch baking dish or skillet and set it aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Don't overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Once it's fully melted, pour it into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Carefully pour the biscuit dough into the baking dish over the melted butter. Do not mix the butter and batter; let the butter swim!
Baking
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the edges are crispy.
- Once baked, let cool for a few minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes for best results.
