Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and egg.
Dough Formation
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Rising
- Place the dough in a bowl lightly greased with oil, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into equal pieces, shape each piece into a bunny, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the shaped bunnies with a cloth and allow them to rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bunny buns for approximately 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool for a few minutes on a wire rack.
- If desired, consider icing, sprinkles, or a dusting of powdered sugar for decoration.
Notes
Ensure your milk is warm, not hot, to properly activate the yeast. Keep the bunnies uniform in size for even baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days; refrigerate for about a week.
