Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) to ensure your biscuits bake evenly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your hands, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix; we want our biscuits to stay tender.
- On a floured surface, turn the dough out and gently knead it a couple of times. Pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
- Using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass, cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Place the baking sheet in your preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and fluffy.
- Remove from oven, brush with melted butter if desired, and serve warm!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
