Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- If your ham doesn’t come pre-sliced, score the surface in a diamond pattern to help the glaze penetrate.
Make the Glaze
- In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper until well combined.
Glazing and Baking
- Place the ham in a roasting pan and brush a generous amount of the glaze over it, ensuring it seeps into the creases.
- Cover the ham loosely with foil and bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting with the remaining glaze every 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil during the last 20 minutes of baking to allow the glaze to caramelize.
Serving
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use a high-quality ham for better flavor. Be generous with the glaze for a thick caramelized crust. Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 3 to 5 days. Reheat gently in the oven.
