Ingredients
  

For the garlic butter
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the filling
  • 1 loaf Italian bread (or French bread)
  • 1 cup cooked spaghetti
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Divided
Optional toppings
  • to taste grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste fresh basil
  • to taste red pepper flakes

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a garlic butter mixture.
  3. Slice the Italian loaf in half lengthwise.
  4. Spread the garlic butter generously on each side of the sliced bread.
Assembling and Baking
  1. In a separate bowl, mix the cooked spaghetti with the marinara sauce and half of the mozzarella cheese. Spread this mixture evenly on one half of the bread.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the spaghetti layer, then place the other half of the bread on top.
  3. Wrap the stuffed garlic bread in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake for about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Unwrap the bread and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the top is golden brown and crisp.
Serving
  1. Allow a few minutes to cool, then slice and serve while still warm.

Notes

For alternatives, use whole wheat or gluten-free bread. Add fresh herbs for additional flavor, and ensure your spaghetti isn't overly saucy to keep the bread from getting soggy. Store tightly wrapped in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for a month.
