Preparation
- Wash fresh berries under cold water and pat them dry. Slice strawberries if they are large.
- Set aside mixed berries in a bowl and drizzle some syrup or jam over them for added sweetness.
Whipping Cream
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Using an electric mixer, whip until soft peaks form, being careful not to overwhip.
Combine Mixtures
- Gently fold mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream mixture, maintaining light and airy texture.
Layering
- In a trifle dish, place a layer of ladyfinger biscuits at the bottom.
- Add a layer of the mascarpone mixture followed by a layer of berries. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a mascarpone layer on top.
Chill & Serve
- Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
- When ready to serve, add additional berries or a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top.
Notes
Avoid freezing, as this will change the texture. Best consumed within 2-3 days.
