Ingredients

Chicken and Marinade
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • to taste Salt
  • optional chopped green onions for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and everything is well mixed.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure to coat each piece evenly. If time allows, marinate for 20-30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Put the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and no longer pink in the center.
  2. Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  3. Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the chicken for a few hours or overnight if possible. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C).
