Preparation
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture along with the melted butter and eggs.
- Mix until a dough forms, then turn it out onto a floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl. Cover it with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into small portions (about 12-15). Shape each portion into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the rolls again and let them rise for another 30 minutes, or until doubled.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, brush with melted butter, and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
To store any leftover rolls, let them cool completely before placing them in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature for about two days or frozen for up to three months.
