Alfredo Sauce Recipe

- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 ½ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of nutmeg optional
- Fresh parsley for garnish optional
Melt the Butter:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the Garlic:
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn.
Stir in the Cream:
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 3–4 minutes.
Add the Parmesan Cheese:
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
Season the Sauce:
Add salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg (if using). Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serve:
Remove from heat and serve immediately over cooked pasta, chicken, or vegetables. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
