Ingredients

For the biscuit dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour for those soft, fluffy bites.
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder to give them a rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to enhance the flavors.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for a hint of sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup milk can be substituted with non-dairy alternatives for a Halal-friendly option.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted adds moisture and flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to create an aromatic twist.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 330°F (165°C). This ensures even cooking and a great crunch on the outside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Create a well in the center and add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined; be careful not to overwork the dough.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thick. Using a donut cutter or two different-sized round cutters (a large and a small one), cut out your biscuit shapes. You can also use a rectangular cutter for easier handling.
Cooking
  1. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil. Place the biscuits in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them. Air fry for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
Finishing Touches
  1. While the donuts are cooling, prepare your glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a splash of milk to achieve your preferred consistency. Drizzle or dip your air-fried delights in the glaze and let dry.
  2. Once they’ve cooled slightly, enjoy your fluffy bites warm! You can store leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

If you're looking for Halal alternatives, swap regular milk for almond, soy, or oat milk. Make sure to keep an eye on the biscuits while air frying, as each air fryer can behave a bit differently. Don’t over-knead your dough; gently mix until just combined for the fluffiest texture.
