Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these air fryer baked potatoes are quick, easy, and delicious. Perfect for a side dish or loaded with toppings for a main meal!

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Fork or knife for piercing
  • Tongs
  • Brush for oil

Ingredients

  • 4 medium russet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Prepare the potatoes:
  • Scrub the potatoes under running water to clean them. Pat them dry with a towel.
  • Pierce and season:
  • Use a fork or knife to pierce each potato a few times to allow steam to escape during cooking. Rub the potatoes with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat the air fryer:
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • Air fry the potatoes:
  • Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 35–40 minutes, flipping halfway through with tongs. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the potatoes.
  • Check for doneness:
  • Insert a fork or knife into the center of a potato. If it slides in easily, the potatoes are ready. If not, cook for an additional 5–10 minutes as needed.
  • Serve:
  • Let the potatoes cool slightly, then slice them open and fluff the insides with a fork. Add your favorite toppings like butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, or bacon bits, and serve warm.
