Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 medium russet potatoes Choose medium-sized for best texture.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray Coating helps with flavor and crispiness.
  • Salt To taste.
Optional Toppings
  • shredded cheese Use your favorite type.
  • sour cream Add for a creamy texture.
  • chives Fresh chives add flavor.
  • butter A classic topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a clean towel.
  2. Coat each potato with olive oil or cooking spray and sprinkle salt over them to enhance the flavor.
Cooking
  1. Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching each other for optimal air circulation.
  2. Set the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and cook for 35-40 minutes.
  3. Halfway through cooking, flip the potatoes to ensure they cook evenly.
  4. When time is up, poke the largest potato with a fork; if it slides in easily, they are ready. If not, cook for an additional 5-10 minutes.
Serving
  1. Carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer and allow them to cool slightly before slicing open and fluffing with a fork.
  2. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

Leftover baked potatoes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes for crispy results.
