  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spoon for spreading

Ingredients

  • 4 cups chopped iceberg or romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup cucumber diced
  • 1 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas thawed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • For the Dressing:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dressing
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, and lemon juice until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
  • Layer the Salad
  • In a large glass bowl or trifle dish, start layering the ingredients:
  • First layer: Spread the chopped lettuce evenly across the bottom.
  • Second layer: Add the halved cherry tomatoes on top of the lettuce.
  • Third layer: Sprinkle the diced cucumber over the tomatoes.
  • Fourth layer: Add the finely chopped red onion.
  • Fifth layer: Spread the thawed peas evenly over the onions.
  • Sixth layer: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Seventh layer: Top with the crumbled bacon.
  • Add the Dressing
  • Spread the dressing evenly over the top layer of the salad, sealing the edges to help keep everything fresh. For extra flavor, sprinkle a little more crumbled bacon or cheese on top if desired.
  • Chill Before Serving
  • Cover the salad tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. This will help the flavors meld together.
