White Fish Recipe
Delight in this simple and flavorful white fish recipe! Perfectly seasoned and pan-seared or baked, it’s a quick, healthy, and versatile dish for any occasion.

- Non-stick skillet (if pan-searing)
- Baking sheet lined with parchment paper (if baking)
- Spatula
- Mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 4 fillets of white fish e.g., cod, haddock, tilapia, or halibut
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme or oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon sliced (for serving)
- Optional garnish: fresh parsley dill, or chives
Instructions
- Option 1: Pan-Seared White Fish
- Prepare the fish:
- Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Rub this seasoning mixture onto both sides of the fish.
- Heat the skillet:
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the fish:
- Place the fish fillets in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork.
- Serve:
- Remove from the skillet and serve with lemon slices and your choice of garnish.
- Option 2: Baked White Fish
- Preheat the oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the fish:
- Place the fish fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush them with olive oil or melted butter and sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly on top.
- Bake:
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Serve:
- Transfer to a plate and serve with lemon slices and garnish.
