Taco Pizza combines two beloved dishes into one irresistible creation. This easy recipe features a pre-made pizza crust as the base for seasoned beef, gooey cheese, and fresh taco-inspired toppings. It’s perfect for family dinners, game nights, or any time you’re craving something bold and fun.

      Ingredients

      • 1 pre-made pizza crust or homemade pizza dough
      • 1 lb ground beef
      • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or homemade taco seasoning)
      • 1/2 cup water (for seasoning mix)
      • 1 cup refried beans (optional)
      • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend cheese
      • 1 cup shredded lettuce
      • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
      • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
      • 1/4 cup diced red onion (optional)
      • 1/4 cup sour cream or taco sauce (for drizzling)
      • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
      • Tortilla chips, crushed, for garnish

      Equipment

      • Large skillet
      • Baking sheet or pizza stone
      • Spatula
      • Measuring cups and spoons
      • Small bowl for taco seasoning mix

      Instructions

      1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven according to the instructions for your pizza crust, typically 425°F (220°C).
      2. Cook the beef:
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.
      3. Add taco seasoning:
Mix the taco seasoning packet with 1/2 cup water. Add it to the beef and simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is evenly coated and the liquid reduces.
      4. Assemble the pizza base:
If using refried beans, spread a thin layer over the pizza crust. Alternatively, use a drizzle of taco sauce as a base.
      5. Add the toppings:
Spread the seasoned beef evenly over the crust. Top with shredded cheese.
      6. Bake:
Place the pizza on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
      7. Add fresh toppings:
Once baked, let the pizza cool for 2–3 minutes. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, black olives, red onion, and crushed tortilla chips.
      8. Finish and serve:
Drizzle with sour cream or taco sauce, and sprinkle with cilantro if desired. Slice and serve immediately.

      Tips

      • Make it vegetarian: Swap the ground beef with seasoned black beans or plant-based meat.
      • Customizable toppings: Add jalapeños, guacamole, or your favorite taco toppings for more flavor.
      • Homemade crust: For a fresher touch, use your favorite homemade pizza dough recipe.
