Whether you need a healthy breakfast, an afternoon snack, or a post-workout treat, this strawberry smoothie is sure to satisfy your cravings and provide a nutritious boost!

      Ingredients

      • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (hulled)
      • 1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
      • ½ cup plain or vanilla yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)
      • ½ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, like almond, oat, or soy milk)
      • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
      • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
      • ½ cup ice (optional, for a thicker and colder smoothie)

      Equipment

      • Blender
      • Measuring cups and spoons
      • Knife and cutting board
      • Glass or smoothie cup

      Instructions

      1. Prepare the ingredients:
If using fresh strawberries, hull them (remove the green tops) and chop them into halves or quarters. Peel the banana.
      2. Blend the smoothie:
Add the strawberries, banana, yogurt, milk, honey (if using), and vanilla extract into the blender. For a thicker smoothie, add ice cubes.
      3. Blend until smooth:
Blend on high for 30-60 seconds, or until everything is smooth and well-combined. If the smoothie is too thick, you can add a little more milk to achieve your desired consistency.
      4. Serve:
Pour the smoothie into a glass or cup and enjoy immediately!

      Tips

      • Frozen strawberries: Using frozen strawberries will make your smoothie thicker and colder.
      • Dairy-free option: Use a plant-based yogurt and non-dairy milk to make the smoothie vegan-friendly.
      • Add-ins: You can boost the nutrition by adding a tablespoon of chia seeds, flaxseeds, or a scoop of protein powder.
      • Flavor variations: Experiment with adding other fruits like blueberries, raspberries, or mango to give your strawberry smoothie a twist.
