The Piña Colada, a tropical drink originating from Puerto Rico, is synonymous with beach vacations and sunny days. This creamy, fruity cocktail is a blend of coconut cream, pineapple juice, and rum, served over ice for a refreshing escape in a glass. Perfect for parties, summer gatherings, or simply unwinding at home, this recipe is easy to make and utterly delicious!

      Ingredients

      For the Cocktail:

      • 2 oz white rum
      • 3 oz pineapple juice (fresh or canned)
      • 2 oz coconut cream (not coconut milk)
      • 1 cup ice

      For the Mocktail Version:

      • 3 oz pineapple juice
      • 2 oz coconut cream
      • 1 cup ice
      • Splash of sparkling water (optional, for fizz)

      Garnishes:

      • Pineapple wedges
      • Maraschino cherries
      • Shredded coconut (optional)
      • Cocktail umbrellas (for a fun touch)

      Equipment

      • Blender
      • Measuring jigger or cups
      • Cocktail glasses

      Instructions

      1. Blend the ingredients:
Add the white rum (if using), pineapple juice, coconut cream, and ice to a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy.
      2. Taste and adjust:
Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness by adding more pineapple juice if needed. For a thicker consistency, add more ice.
      3. Serve:
Pour the Piña Colada into a chilled cocktail glass.
      4. Garnish:
Add a pineapple wedge, a maraschino cherry, and a sprinkle of shredded coconut on top. Finish with a cocktail umbrella for a festive touch.
      5. Mocktail version:
Follow the same steps, omitting the rum. Add a splash of sparkling water for a bubbly twist, if desired.

      Tips

      • Fresh pineapple: Blend fresh pineapple chunks for a more vibrant and natural flavor.
      • Coconut cream substitute: If you can’t find coconut cream, use coconut milk and add a teaspoon of sugar for extra sweetness.
      • Frozen option: Freeze pineapple chunks and use them instead of ice for an even creamier texture.
      • Batch preparation: Multiply the recipe to make a pitcher for a crowd—just keep the proportions consistent.
