Peanut Butter Blossoms are the quintessential cookie for every occasion. With their soft, peanut buttery base and iconic chocolate kiss on top, these cookies are a delightful combination of flavors and textures. Whether you’re baking for a holiday platter or simply indulging a sweet craving, these cookies are guaranteed to impress.

      Equipment:

      • Mixing bowls
      • Hand or stand mixer
      • Measuring cups and spoons
      • Baking sheets
      • Parchment paper
      • Cooling rack

      Ingredients:

      • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
      • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
      • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling)
      • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
      • 1 large egg
      • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
      • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
      • 1 teaspoon baking soda
      • 1/4 teaspoon salt
      • 36 chocolate kisses, unwrapped

      Instructions:

      1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
      2. Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
      3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
      4. Shape the Cookies:
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat, then place them on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
      5. Bake:
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
      6. Add the Chocolate Kiss:
Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. The cookies will crack slightly—this is normal.
      7. Cool and Enjoy:
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack to set.

      Presentation Ideas:

      • Arrange the cookies on a festive plate for holidays or gatherings.
      • Place them in a clear jar or gift box tied with a ribbon for a sweet homemade gift.

      Tips:

      • For a twist, try using flavored chocolate kisses like dark chocolate or caramel-filled.
      • Be careful not to overbake—the cookies should stay soft and chewy.
      • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
