Monster cookies are the ultimate cookie mash-up, combining the best of peanut butter, oats, and chocolate into one irresistibly chewy and colorful treat. Perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or a weekend baking project, these cookies are as fun to look at as they are to eat!

      Equipment:

      • Mixing bowls (large and medium)
      • Hand or stand mixer
      • Baking sheets
      • Parchment paper or silicone baking mats
      • Cookie scoop

      Ingredients:

      • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
      • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
      • ¾ cup granulated sugar
      • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
      • 2 large eggs
      • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
      • 1 ½ cups quick oats
      • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
      • 1 teaspoon baking soda
      • ½ teaspoon salt
      • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
      • 1 cup colorful candy-coated chocolates (e.g., M&M’s)

      Instructions:

      1. Preheat the Oven:
        • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
      2. Mix Wet Ingredients:
        • In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, beating until combined.
      3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
        • In a medium bowl, whisk together the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
      4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
        • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
      5. Fold in the Mix-ins:
        • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and candy-coated chocolates with a spatula.
      6. Shape the Cookies:
        • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
      7. Bake:
        • Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will still look slightly underbaked but will firm up as they cool.
      8. Cool:
        • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

      Presentation Ideas:

      • Arrange the cookies in a colorful platter for parties or bake sales.
      • Wrap in clear cellophane with a ribbon for a sweet homemade gift.

      Tips:

      • For extra flair, press a few candy-coated chocolates onto the tops of the cookies before baking.
      • Use gluten-free oats and a gluten-free flour blend to make these cookies gluten-free.
      • Store the cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage.

Monster cookies are a delightful treat that combines nostalgic flavors with a playful twist. Perfect for any occasion, these chewy, colorful cookies are guaranteed to bring smiles all around. Happy baking!
