Whether you’re using an ice cream maker or opting for a no-churn method, this recipe is simple to follow and endlessly customizable. Perfect for hot summer days, family gatherings, or just satisfying a sweet tooth, this homemade ice cream will become a fast favorite!

      Equipment:

      • Ice cream maker (optional)
      • Mixing bowls
      • Whisk or hand mixer
      • Freezer-safe container

      Ingredients:

      Basic Vanilla Ice Cream Base:

      • 2 cups heavy cream
      • 1 cup whole milk
      • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
      • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

      Optional Add-Ins:

      • Chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or fruit puree

      Instructions:

      1. Combine Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
      2. Churn the Ice Cream (if using a machine):
Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until the mixture reaches a soft-serve consistency.
      3. No-Churn Method:
If you don’t have an ice cream maker, whip the heavy cream separately until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the milk, sugar, and vanilla mixture. Pour into a freezer-safe container.
      4. Freeze:
Transfer the churned or no-churn mixture to a freezer-safe container, cover, and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
      5. Serve:
Scoop and serve as-is or with your favorite toppings like hot fudge, caramel, or fresh fruit.

      Presentation Ideas:

      • Serve in classic cones or decorative bowls.
      • Layer with brownies or cookies for a fun ice cream sandwich.
      • Garnish with a sprig of mint or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

      Tips:

      • Chill your ingredients and ice cream maker bowl (if using) ahead of time for the best results.
      • For creative flavors, mix in your favorite toppings like crushed candies, swirl in fruit preserves, or add spices like cinnamon.
      • Store ice cream in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface to prevent ice crystals.
