Grilled corn on the cob is a summer classic, combining the natural sweetness of fresh corn with a smoky char from the grill. Perfect as a side for barbecues, picnics, or any outdoor gathering, this recipe is quick, simple, and packed with flavor. Whether you enjoy it plain, with melted butter, or loaded with toppings, grilled corn on the cob is sure to be a hit!

      Equipment:

      • Grill (gas or charcoal)
      • Tongs
      • Brush for butter or oil
      • Aluminum foil (optional for wrapping)

      Ingredients:

      • 4 ears of corn, husks and silk removed
      • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
      • Salt and pepper, to taste
      • Optional toppings: extra melted butter, grated Parmesan, fresh herbs (such as parsley or cilantro), chili powder, lime wedges

      Instructions:

      1. Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400-450°F (200-230°C). This temperature helps create a nice char without overcooking the corn.
      2. Prep the Corn
Brush each ear of corn with a light layer of olive oil or melted butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
      3. Grill the Corn
Place the corn directly on the grill grates. Grill for about 10-12 minutes, turning every 2-3 minutes with tongs until the kernels are tender and charred in spots. Adjust grilling time depending on your preferred level of char.
      4. Optional Foil Method
For a gentler cook, wrap each ear in aluminum foil before placing it on the grill. Grill for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, then unwrap and place directly on the grill for 2-3 minutes to get some char.
      5. Serve and Enjoy
Remove the corn from the grill and brush with extra melted butter if desired. Sprinkle with your favorite toppings or enjoy it plain.

      Presentation Ideas:

      • Serve on a large platter with lime wedges, fresh herbs, and a sprinkle of cheese.
      • Arrange grilled corn in a basket for an easy-to-grab summer picnic or BBQ.
      • Garnish with a dusting of chili powder for a pop of color and spice.

      Tips:

      • If you like spicier corn, sprinkle with chili powder or paprika while grilling.
      • For extra flavor, add fresh lime juice, cotija cheese, and cilantro for a Mexican-inspired street corn twist.
      • Use a basting brush to add more butter as the corn grills for a richer, buttery taste.
