Air fryer chicken drumsticks are the ultimate crowd-pleaser. With crispy skin on the outside and tender, juicy meat inside, this recipe combines simplicity with incredible flavor. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, these drumsticks are a healthier alternative to fried chicken without sacrificing taste or texture.

      Ingredients

      • 6–8 chicken drumsticks
      • 2 tbsp olive oil
      • 1 tsp garlic powder
      • 1 tsp smoked paprika
      • 1 tsp onion powder
      • 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional, for a spicy kick)
      • 1/2 tsp salt
      • 1/4 tsp black pepper

      Equipment

      • Air fryer
      • Large mixing bowl
      • Tongs

      Instructions

      1. Preheat the Air Fryer:

      • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.

      2. Prepare the Drumsticks:

      • Pat the drumsticks dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
      • Place the drumsticks in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.

      3. Season the Chicken:

      • In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, chili powder (if using), salt, and black pepper.
      • Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the drumsticks, ensuring they are evenly coated.

      4. Cook the Drumsticks:

      • Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece for even cooking.
      • Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the drumsticks are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

      5. Serve:

      • Let the drumsticks rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce, coleslaw, or a side salad.

      Tips

      • Extra Crispiness: For extra crispy skin, lightly spray the drumsticks with olive oil halfway through cooking.
      • Marinate for More Flavor: Marinate the drumsticks in your favorite sauce or spices for a few hours before cooking.
      • Batch Cooking: If your air fryer basket is small, cook the drumsticks in batches to avoid overcrowding.
      • Reheat Leftovers: Reheat leftover drumsticks in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes to restore their crispiness.
