A crustless quiche is a lighter, gluten-free version of the classic quiche, perfect for those who want to skip the crust without sacrificing flavor. It’s quick to make, endlessly customizable, and ideal for meal prep or serving a crowd. Whether you enjoy it warm from the oven or chilled as leftovers, this dish is a winner every time!

      Equipment:

      • Mixing bowl
      • Whisk
      • 9-inch pie dish or baking dish
      • Cutting board
      • Knife
      • Measuring cups and spoons

      Ingredients:

      • 6 large eggs
      • 1 cup milk (whole, 2%, or your preferred alternative)
      • ½ cup heavy cream (optional for extra richness)
      • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or a blend)
      • 1 cup cooked vegetables (spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.)
      • ½ cup cooked protein (bacon, sausage, ham, or chicken, optional)
      • ½ teaspoon salt
      • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
      • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder or onion powder (optional)
      • 1 tablespoon fresh herbs, chopped (parsley, chives, or thyme)

      Instructions:

      1. Preheat the Oven:
        • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
      2. Prepare the Egg Mixture:
        • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cream until well combined. Season with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings.
      3. Layer the Ingredients:
        • Spread the cooked vegetables and protein evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
      4. Add the Egg Mixture:
        • Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients, ensuring everything is evenly coated.
      5. Bake the Quiche:
        • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the quiche is set in the center and lightly golden on top. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.
      6. Cool and Serve:
        • Allow the quiche to cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm or at room temperature.

      Tips:

      • Use any combination of vegetables, cheeses, and proteins you prefer. This is a great way to use up leftovers!
      • For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and cream with almond or oat milk and skip the cheese.
      • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, reheating individual slices in the microwave or oven.
