Craving a warm, gooey chocolate treat but don’t want to bake an entire cake? This chocolate mug cake is your answer! Made with simple ingredients, it’s a single-serving dessert ready in just a few minutes. Perfect for when you need a quick indulgence.

      Equipment:

      • Microwave-safe mug (at least 12 oz capacity)
      • Fork or whisk
      • Measuring spoons

      Ingredients:

      • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
      • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
      • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
      • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
      • Pinch of salt
      • 3 tablespoons milk
      • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter
      • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
      • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips (optional)

      Instructions:

      1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
        • In a microwave-safe mug, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well with a fork to avoid lumps.
      2. Add Wet Ingredients:
        • Stir in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until a smooth batter forms.
      3. Optional Chocolate Chips:
        • Sprinkle chocolate chips on top or mix them into the batter for extra gooeyness.
      4. Cook in Microwave:
        • Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds. The exact time depends on your microwave’s power. Start checking at 60 seconds; the cake should rise and be set but slightly moist on top.
      5. Cool and Enjoy:
        • Let the mug cake cool for a minute before digging in. Serve as is or top with whipped cream, ice cream, or powdered sugar.

      Presentation Ideas:

      • Dust with powdered sugar for a minimalist touch.
      • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
      • Garnish with fresh berries or a drizzle of chocolate syrup for a fancy finish.

      Tips:

      • Avoid overcooking; the cake will continue to cook slightly after microwaving.
      • Swap the chocolate chips for peanut butter chips or chopped nuts for variety.
      • For a molten center, add a teaspoon of Nutella or peanut butter in the middle of the batter before microwaving.
