Cheese balls are a versatile and crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s easy to customize with your favorite cheeses and seasonings. Whether you’re hosting a party or looking for a quick snack, these crispy, gooey bites will steal the show.

      Equipment:

      • Mixing bowls
      • Fork or potato masher
      • Shallow plates for breading
      • Large skillet or deep fryer
      • Slotted spoon
      • Paper towels

      Ingredients:

      • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
      • 1 cup mashed potatoes (optional for extra creaminess)
      • ¼ cup cream cheese, softened
      • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
      • 1 teaspoon onion powder
      • ½ teaspoon paprika
      • Salt and pepper to taste
      • 1 cup all-purpose flour
      • 2 large eggs, beaten
      • 1½ cups breadcrumbs
      • Vegetable oil for frying

      Instructions:

      1. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
        • In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cheese, mashed potatoes (if using), cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
        • Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Chill in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes to firm up.
      2. Bread the Cheese Balls:
        • Set up a breading station with three shallow plates: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
        • Roll each cheese ball in flour, dip in egg, and coat in breadcrumbs. For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.
      3. Fry the Cheese Balls:
        • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
        • Fry the cheese balls in batches for 2–3 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
        • Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
      4. Serve:
        • Serve warm with dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or sweet chili sauce.

      Tips:

      • To make them ahead, freeze the breaded cheese balls on a baking sheet, then store them in a freezer-safe bag. Fry directly from frozen when ready to serve.
      • Use a mix of cheeses for a richer flavor—sharp cheddar and mozzarella are great options.
      • For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.

Crispy, creamy, and packed with cheesy goodness, these cheese balls are a must-try recipe for any occasion. Whether you’re entertaining guests or enjoying a cozy evening at home, these savory bites will quickly become a favorite. Enjoy!
