      Equipment:

      • Large mixing bowl
      • Spoon or hands for mixing
      • Baking sheet
      • Parchment paper or silicone mat (optional)
      • Oven

      Ingredients:

      • 1 pound breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)
      • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
      • 1 ½ cups biscuit baking mix (such as Bisquick)
      • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
      • ½ teaspoon onion powder
      • ½ teaspoon salt
      • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
      • ¼ cup milk

      Instructions:

      1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup.
      2. Mix the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sausage, shredded cheese, biscuit mix, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the milk and mix everything together until well combined. The mixture will be a bit thick, but you want it to hold together.
      3. Form the Sausage Balls:
Using your hands or a spoon, form the sausage mixture into 1-inch balls. Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them.
      4. Bake the Sausage Balls:
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through. You can check by cutting one in half to make sure it’s no longer pink in the middle.
      5. Serve:
Allow the sausage balls to cool slightly before serving. They are perfect as-is or paired with a dipping sauce like mustard, honey mustard, or ranch dressing.

      Tips:

      • For a spicier version, use hot sausage or add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture.
      • You can make the sausage balls ahead of time and refrigerate the raw balls before baking. They’ll stay fresh in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
      • If you have leftover sausage balls, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for longer storage.
