Rice Krispie Treats are a nostalgic favorite that brings back childhood memories with every bite. These no-bake bars are quick, simple, and endlessly customizable. Whether you’re making them for a school bake sale, a family gathering, or just because you’re craving something sweet, this recipe ensures perfectly gooey and crispy treats every time.

      Equipment:

      • Large saucepan
      • Wooden spoon or spatula
      • 9×13-inch baking dish
      • Parchment paper or cooking spray

      Ingredients:

      • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
      • 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows (or 4 cups regular marshmallows)
      • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
      • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

      Instructions:

      1. Prepare the Pan
Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it lightly with cooking spray. Set aside.
      2. Melt the Butter
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir frequently to prevent browning.
      3. Add Marshmallows
Once the butter has melted, add the marshmallows to the pan. Stir constantly until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, if using.
      4. Combine with Cereal
Gradually add the Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture, stirring until all the cereal is evenly coated.
      5. Transfer to Pan
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a greased spatula or a piece of parchment paper to press the mixture evenly into the pan. Don’t press too firmly; this keeps the treats light and chewy.
      6. Cool and Cut
Allow the Rice Krispie Treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut them into squares or rectangles and serve.

      Presentation Ideas:

      • Drizzle with melted chocolate or sprinkle with colorful candy for a festive touch.
      • Use cookie cutters to create fun shapes for themed parties or holidays.
      • Wrap individual squares in cellophane with ribbons for a portable treat.

      Tips:

      • For extra gooey treats, add an extra cup of mini marshmallows to the recipe.
      • Use salted butter for a subtle salty-sweet flavor contrast.
      • Add mix-ins like chocolate chips, sprinkles, or crushed cookies for creative variations.
      • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
