      Equipment:

      • Mixing bowls
      • Hand or stand mixer
      • Measuring cups and spoons
      • Baking sheets
      • Parchment paper or silicone baking mats
      • Cooling rack

      Ingredients:

      • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
      • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
      • ½ cup granulated sugar
      • 2 large eggs
      • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
      • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
      • 1 teaspoon baking soda
      • ½ teaspoon salt
      • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
      • 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips

      Instructions:

      1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
      2. Cream Butter and Sugars:
In a large mixing bowl, use a mixer to cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
      3. Add Eggs and Vanilla:
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
      4. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
      5. Add Oats and Chocolate Chips:
Stir in the rolled oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
      6. Portion the Dough:
Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
      7. Bake:
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked. The cookies will set as they cool.
      8. Cool:
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

      Tips:

      • For a nuttier flavor, toast the oats lightly before adding them to the dough.
      • Substitute half the chocolate chips with raisins or nuts for variety.
      • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.

These Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies strike the perfect balance between chewy oats and melty chocolate. Easy to make and incredibly satisfying, they’re a classic treat that’s always a crowd-pleaser. Grab a glass of milk and enjoy!
